Spyced is a cosmetic company founded in the heart of Unguja Zanzibar, whereby we cultivate local spices into medicinal cosmetics to be taken home by visitors of the Island. All of our ingredients are organic and where they are indigenous to the island we label this on our products for customer awareness.
Each of our ingredients tell a story of the tale of Zanzibar, the origin of the spice down to the benefits for the consumer and for your body; when immersed in our Spyced products.
We take pride in being from Africa and this is showcased through our partnership with Bantu Asili farm. Bantu Asili farm is located in Paje on the Southeast coast of Zanzibar island and is our tropical farm and primary supplier for the ingredients we use. Whilst our cosmetics take pride in its origins, so does the farm that they come from: ‘BANTU ASILI’ makes reference to the word ‘Bantu’ the origin of black people and ‘Asili’ which denotes ‘to originate’ in Swahili:

Our products are not only representative of the diverse flora and fauna on the island as well as its rich trade route history. They are also medicinal, organic, hand made and packaged by local artisans. This is because at Spyced we believe in building sustainable businesses on the island that uplift socio-economic value chains, creates work for locals and amplifies the importance of ethically made goods that are beneficial for the consumer.
